If I had answered this question a month ago, I would've said Necromancer, Ritualist, and Elementalist, in that order.
Now, however, my Ritualist is my favorite character, hands down. So, Rit, Ele, and Paragon for me. (This is all for PvE.)
In my opinion, there is no other profession as versatile or as intellectually challenging as the Ritualist. I love the way the Ritualist plays the game and its quirky pacing. I can heal just about as well as a monk in most areas, or I can do some serious damage with the Channeling line, or I can provide party support through spirits and weapon spells in either an offensive or defensive direction. My favorite build, though, is a hybrid. I can dish out the damage when the party is doing well, or I can be a backup healer when the going gets dicey, and I can do both in the same build without sacrificing the effectiveness of either role. There is no other profession that allows for this. I can be a highly effective minion master (thanks for the great build, Bargamer!), or I can even tank, run, and solo farm if the mood strikes me. A lot of players scoff at the Ritualist because it isn't "the best" at any one aspect of conventional play. It is, however, very competent at most aspects of conventional play, which makes it an extremely fun class to play.
